Maps are an appropriate visualisation type when your data has a geospatial component. There are a number of common ways to visualise geospatial information, and these are further explained below.
Repeat 3/30/300 rule. 3 seconds: sparklines, tiny economist charts (limited elements, no title etc, for general trends,) NB: differentiate from BANs? (colour use?, what else?) 30 seconds: infographic 300 seconds: standalone products only. Complex narrative visual? (we might not do this, maybe Ukraine drone poster or something?)
